SAUSAGE BREAD ROLLS

Sausage bread is one of the more typical Chinese bakery bread, and they come in many different kinds of shapes. This Sausage Bread rolls recipe is easy to make and the taste was really good.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS SAUSAGE BREAD ROLLS

Milk, all purpose flour, sugar, instant dry yeast, egg, salt, butter and sausages or hot dogs

HOW TO MAKE SAUSAGE BREAD ROLLS

Prepare the dough : In a large bowl, add together milk and egg. Mix well. Add in flour, sugar, instant dry yeast and salt. Mix well until you get the dough form. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, add in the butter and mix well with your hand.

Knead the dough : Prepare your silicone mat, sprinkle with some flour. Transfer the dough on the silicone mat. If the dough sticky, add a little bit some flour on the dough. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Make the dough into a ball. Prepare your big bowl with 1 tbsp oil (I use Olive oil), transfer the dough into a bowl and drizzle with oil. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, open the kitchen towel and punch the dough to remove the air bubbles. Make the dough into a ball and divide into 8 pieces.

Form every dough into a small ball and cover the dough with kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, open the kitchen towel, roll out and flatten the dough, place the sausage in the middle of the dough. Make 4 slits on both sides of the dough, fold the strips crossing over the sausage. (you can close all the sausage with the dough)

Prepare your baking sheet with baking paper, place the sausage rolls on the baking sheet, cover with kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, open the kitchen towel and brush the dough with egg wash (1 beaten egg + 1 tsp milk) and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.

Preheat your oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake them for 20-25 minutes (depends on your oven).

Ingredients
  

  • 125 grams (1/2 cups) milk room temperature
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 250 grams (2 cups) all purpose flour
  • 25 grams (1/4 cup) caster sugar or granulated sugar
  • 3 grams (1 tsp) instant dry yeast
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 sausages
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tsp milk for egg wash
  • white sesame oil for sprinkle
