HOT CHOCOLATE COOKIES

These Hot Chocolate Cookies are my absolute favorite cookie to make during the holiday season. You’ll love that they are thick and chewy like a brownie. If you’re going to make cookies for Christmas, you have to give these cookies a try!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE HOT CHOCOLATE COOKIES

For dry Ingredients : all purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and baking powder

For wet Ingredients : salted butter, dark chocolate, eggs, vanilla extract, brown sugar, marshmallow

For the glaze and sprinkle : Melted butter, cocoa powder, hot water, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, Christmas sprinkle.

HOW TO MAKE HOT CHOCOLATE COOKIES

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder and baking powder, and set aside.

Mix salted butter and dark chocolate and put in the microwave until melting. Or you can use small sauce pan, melt the butter and add in the dark chocolate and whisk together until the butter and the chocolate melt into a smooth chocolate sauce. Let it cool and set aside.

In another medium bowl : add in eggs and brown sugar, beat until light and fluffy.

Add in vanilla extract and beat again until well combined.

Add in the chocolate mixture and beat until well combined.

Add in the flour mixture gradually into the chocolate mixture. Mix well with spatula.

Cover with plastic cling wrap and keep in the fridge for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, spoon 1 tbsp the dough and make into a small ball, place onto the prepared baking sheet.

Press little bit with the back of spoon or spatula. Bake the dough for 10 minutes.

Take out from the oven and directly put 3 of mini marshmallow on the top for every cookies. Place back in the oven for 2-3 minutes.

Let them cool and transfer on the cooling rack, place baking paper under the cooling rack.

Make a glaze : In a medium bowl, add melted butter, cocoa powder, hot water and vanilla extract, mix well.

Add in powdered sugar and mix until well combined.

Pour the chocolate glaze over the marshmallow and sprinkle with Christmas sprinkle.

Let them set for 30 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 225 grams (1 1/2 cups) all purpose flour
  • 60 gram (1/2 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 113 grams (1/2 cup) salted butter
  • 346 grams (1.365 cups) dark chocolate chunk into small pieces
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp melted butter for the glaze
  • 25 gram (1/4 cup) cocoa powder for the glaze
  • 59 ml (1/4 cup) hot water for the glaze
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for the glaze
  • 120 grams (1 cup) powdered sugar for the glaze
  • 132 pieces mini marshmallows

Instructions
