GRINCH COOKIES

These Grinch Cookies are inspired by Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! These soft and chewy cookies are colored Grinch-green and decorated with some stars sprinkle. These are based on Sugar cookies recipe and are sure to be one of my hits Christmas cookies!!

If you are a fan of the Grinch movie like me, so let’s bake them and enjoy the cookies while you enjoy the movie!! They are super easy to make and you don’t need so much time to make them.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING THESE COOKIES

All purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salted butter (if you use unsalted butter, add pinch of salt), caster sugar, egg, vanilla extract, gel food coloring, stars sprinkle (you can use heart or other sprinkles).

HOW TO MAKE THE GRINCH COOKIES

For the dry Ingredients : In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and baking powder with the whisk

For the wet Ingredients : In another medium bowl, add sugar and butter. Beat with medium speed until light and fluffy.

Add in the egg and mix well. Then add in vanilla extract and mix well again.

Slowly add the flour mixture into the butter mixture and mix until well combined with spatula.

Add 2-3 drops of green food coloring and mix well until all the batter become green.

Add more food coloring to get your desired color. Mix well.

Scoop 1 tablespoon of the batter and make a small ball.

Transfer onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat for all the batter.

Bake them for 8 minutes. After you take out from the oven, sprinkle them with stars or heart sprinkle directly. Press little bit in the middle of the cookies. Then let them cool.

Ingredients
  

  • 179 grams (1 3/8 cups) All purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) Caster sugar
  • 112 grams (1/2 cup) Salted butter room temperature
  • 1 Large egg room temperature
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2-6 drops Green Gel food coloring
  • Stars or heart sprinkle

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Line your baking sheet with baking paper.

  • Add in the egg and mix well. Then add in vanilla extract and mix well again.
