CHOCOLATE SWIRL BUNS

These beautiful and delicious Chocolate Swirl Buns are soft and easy to make. Stuffed with Ceres double hazelnut chocolate, perfect with your morning cup of coffee or tea. These are my family favorite buns for our breakfast! You don’t have to buy in Bakery shop anymore. Bake them now!!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING THESE BUNS

. Fresh milk, all purpose flour, sugar, salt, instant dry yeast, butter and egg

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE SWIRL BUNS

Prepare the dough : In a large bowl, add together milk, egg, sugar, flour,dry yeast and salt. Mix well with spatula until you get the dough form.

Add the butter and mix well with your hand. Prepare your silicone mat, sprinkle with some flour. Transfer the dough on the silicone mat, if the dough sticky, add some flour on the dough to handle the sticky dough and mix well.

Knead the dough : Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Make the dough into a ball. Prepare your big bowl with some oil (I use olive oil), transfer the dough into a bowl and drizzle with oil. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, open the kitchen towel and punch the dough to remove the air bubbles. Make the dough into a ball and divide into 6 pieces.

Form every dough into a small ball and cover with kitchen towel. Let it rest for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, open the kitchen towel. Roll out and flatten the dough. Brush with Nutella or other chocolate you have at home. I use Ceres double hazelnut chocolate. Use pizza cutter or knife, you make inner slashes as shown on the picture (watch the video for more detail) and twist one of the side and pinch the edges of the strips together.

Prepared baking sheet with baking paper. Place them on the baking sheet, cover with plastic cling wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, open the plastic. Brush the dough with egg wash (1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk). Preheat your oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake them for 20-25 minutes (depends on your oven)

Ingredients
  

  • 250 ml (1 cup) warm milk room temperature

  • 406 grams (3 cup+1/4 cup) all purpose flour
  • 7 gram (2+1/4 tsp) instant dry yeast
  • 5 gram (1 tsp) salt
  • 55 gram (1/4 cup) salted or unsalted butter
  • Nutella or Ceres chocolate
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • 1 tsp milk for brushing
