APPLE STUFFED BUNS

 These super soft and fluffy buns filled with amazing delicious apple filling. You will be surprised when you taste them. They are delicious for dinner, lovely dessert or breakfast treat. This one will remind you of apple pie.

I usually make the filling for my apple pie. I was surprised when I made this for filling the buns, the taste was really delicious. I will definitely make this again.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING THIS BREAD

– Fresh Milk, all purpose flour, sugar, salt, instant dry yeast, butter, egg

HOW TO MAKE APPLE STUFFED BUNS :

 

Prepare the dough : In a large bowl, mix together milk, egg and sugar. Mix well with the whisk.

Add flour, salt, and instant dry yeast, mix well with spatula until you get the dough form.

Knead the dough : Add the butter and mix well with your hand. Then transfer the dough on the silicone mat. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

Make the dough into a ball, add about 1 tbsp oil into the bowl and place the dough into the bowl, drizzle with oil. Cover the bowl with kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, open the kitchen towel and punch the dough to remove the air bubbles. Make the dough into a ball and divide the dough into 9 pieces.

Form every dough into a ball. Roll out and flatten the dough. Fill in with apple filling and close the dough. Place the dough into 22×22 cm or 9×9 inches and cover with kitchen towel. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, brush them with egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp milk)

Preheat your oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake them for 20-25 minutes.

After baking, let the buns cool. After completely cool, sprinkle the buns with powdered sugar.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING APPLE FILLING

Apples, palm sugar, water, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, ginger powder (you can use any apples you have at home, I use apple red Washington)

HOW TO MAKE APPLE FILLING

  • Add all of the filling ingredients into a pan, mix well and cook on medium heat until the apple has softened a bit and the mixture thickened.
  • Transfer into a bowl and cool completely before using.

  • 250 ml (1 cup) Warm milk

  • 406 grams (3 cups + 1/4 cup) All purpose flour
  • 7 gram (2 1/4 tsp) Instant dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 55 gram (1/4 cup) Butter (Salted or unsalted) softened
  • 2 Apples For apple filling
  • 50 gram (1/4 cup) Palm sugar For apple filling
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) Water For apple filling
  • 8 gram (1 tbsp) Cornstarch For apple filling
  • 1/2 tbsp Lemon juice For apple filling
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon powder For apple filling
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg powder For apple filling
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger powder For apple filling
  • 1 egg yolk for greasing
